16 Pet Sitting Clients/Pals Who Kept Me Busy For Several Weeks!
Hello Everyone!
I aPAWlogize for the delay in updating you about my visits in the last few weeks but it has been so busy (but fun!) that I haven't had time to write! However, I have thought of my dear readers every literal step of the way by taking photographs of my pet sitting companions for you to enjoy!
For your viewing pleasure I present you with the above cocker spaniels named Carter, Carly, and Snoopy (from left to right of course!) who I walk every other week!
Next up is Dilly and her brother,
Music who needed me to keep them entertained!
Next is Chip (on the left) with his weekly walking buddy and my dog, Daisy!
Then there's Ajax and his "siblings",
Sonya and
Sophia who needed vacation care!
Next is Topanga who used to be shy but now sits under the coffee table to watch me very carefully!
Then there's Lily who is 19 and is a sweetheart!
Then there was Italian greyhound, Benny, who needed overnight care! He looks like a deer, doesn't he?
And then I had the pleasure of walking Shiba Inu, Nori, around town for two weekends!
And last but certainly not least was (from left to right) Sophia the Jack Russell Terrier, Luigi the Golden Doodle, and Fiona the Newfoundland who needed midday visits while mom was away!
I hope you enjoyed looking at these 16 adorable faces (17 if you count my girl, Daisy!) today!
May We Never Forget Bretagne, the Last Search and Rescue 9/11 Dog
![]() |
In March 2016 Bretagne was still carrying her bag of treats in her mouth until Denise finally give in and opened it. |
Sadly, she began experiencing kidney failure and was slowing down. When Bretagne failed to do her favorite thing for three consecutive days — eat — her owner Denise Corliss realized it was time to say goodbye.
"She was really anxious last night and she just wanted to be with me," Corliss told TODAY on Monday. "So I laid down with her, right next to her. When she could feel me, she could settle down and go to sleep. I slept with her like that all night."
Even though Bretagnes's suffering ended at 5:00 p.m. last August she will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her best.
I am heartbroken for her owner today, especially on this important day of remembrance of 9/11, and hope Denise finds comfort in the memories she shared with her.
Denise Corliss is pictured with Bretagne at Ground Zero in New York City in September 2001. It was their first deployment together. Today the world will be remembering the tragedy and the aftermath of 9/11 so since this blog is about pets I thought I would honor a golden retriever named Bretagne who spent 10 days trying to find and save people trapped in the rubble of the World Trade Center. This post below was published in June 2016 in remembrance of this kind soul and I hope you will take a moment to thank her for her service as I'm sure she is watching from above! ![]() |
Bretagne, the last surviving search and rescue dog from 9/11, is walked by her handler Denise Corliss, past a flank of members of the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department, as she was brought into the Fairfield Animal Hospital, Monday, June 6, 2016, in Cypress, to be euthanized. |
Tedy Bruschi and Shikari Enjoy TLC From Their New Pet Sitter!
Last Wednesday Tedy the Westie (my first Westie client in 12 years!) acted a bit down in the dumps (and he should have been because mom was on a mini-vacation) on his first visit so the following day I brought my own dog,
Daisy, to accompany him! As you can see from the picture, Tedy perked right up and was a happy camper throughout his walk with us! While Daisy was camera shy she certainly wasn't shy about getting to know this fella who was named after the former New England Patriot linebacker, Tedy Bruschi, while out walking on a lovely wooded trail!
Once Tedy got settled in with a few treats and some fresh water I was thrilled to see 11 year old Shikari waiting on the couch for me! I was told he is normally shy around strangers so to have him beside me was a treat!
